- Network for Yemen campaigns for an end to the War in Yemen and for a massive increase in Humanitarian aid.
- As a major arms supplier, the ‘pen-holder’ on Yemen at the UN Security council, and a nation with extensive diplomatic ties with the region, we believe that the UK Government bears a heavy responsibility for facilitating an end to the war.
- We consider that the UK:
- must substantially increase its humanitarian aid for Yemen
- demand rich western governments and wealthy middle-eastern states increase their aid too
- vigorously engage with all parties to the conflict to help broker a ceasefire
- open up diplomatic channels with the Houthis to seek an ending of their devastating attacks on the city of Marib, which risking the lives of over two million internally displaced people, many of whom have fled from the Houthis
- work to end the Saudi blockade of commercial imports of food, medical supplies and fuel
- demand that the Saudis stop bombing populated areas
- demand that all perpetrators of human rights and international humanitarian law violations face prosecution in international courts and have sanctions placed on them
